Why Connect Google Ads to Google Sheets?

Google Ads, Google's online advertising platform, plays a pivotal role in many businesses' advertising strategies. In 2022, Google's ad revenue surpassed a staggering $224 billion. However, while Google Ads offers some reporting tools, they often fall short in measuring the full return on investment (ROI) of ad campaigns. This is where Google Sheets comes into play. Many advertisers turn to Google Sheets to analyze their Google Ads data, but importing this data can be a cumbersome, manual process. This is where Dokin comes to the rescue.

Dokin provides an elegant solution to this problem by automating the data import process. With Dokin's Google Ads connector for Google Sheets, you can now import real-time Google Ads data into your spreadsheet effortlessly. This eliminates the need for manual work and empowers you to focus on building analysis and insights in your spreadsheet with your Google Ads data.

Dokin vs. Other Solutions

When it comes to connecting Google Ads to Google Sheets, there are various methods available. However, Dokin stands out as the most efficient and user-friendly option, as well as the most economical.

Google connector for Google Ads:

Google has build its own connector to sync Google Ads to Google Sheets. However, funnily enough, its features are really limited, and reviews on Google Workspace Marketplace are very low as it’s rated 3.2/5.0!

Other solutions

Using Google Apps Scripts

Alternatively you can connect Google Ads to Google Sheets using AppScript.

However this choice is not ideal and comes with few limitations. The main reasons are:

Aimed at technical users – You’ll need to have a firm coding background and Google Apps Script knowledge as well as a good understanding of the Google Ads API.

Debugging – Even technical users spend quite a lot of time debugging and maintaining the App Script function used for the import.

Other alternatives

Other interesting solutions exists, like Supermetrics, Coefficient or Coupler. However, Dokin offers a more complete and convenient solution when compared to such alternatives.

  • A more complete offer for Reporting: Unlike other solutions, Dokin is not only limited to syncing data in spreadsheets, but also in Slides and Docs. It allows you to automate all steps of your reporting.
  • 2-way sync: When it comes to syncing data with bases like HubSpot CRM, Trello or Retable, Dokin also allows you to make edits and add records in your spreadsheet and push back data from your spreadsheet to your original sources.

See how we compare:

Conclusion

In the world of digital advertising, harnessing the power of your data is paramount. Connecting Google Ads to Google Sheets is a strategic move that can significantly impact your advertising campaigns.
